Public Group Guided Fossil Hunting Walks with Chris Pamplin Holiday
Guided walks Join local expert geologist and fossil hunter Chris Pamplin for a 2 hour fossil hunting walk and talk at Charmouth.
WET WEATHER All walks will go ahead so long as you turn up, what ever the weather! Fossil hunting can be very rewarding if the weathers bad. So grab those waterproofs and come on down the beach this summer. Support your local tourism economy.
Meeting Place 2013 for 2 hour guided walks listed above Late arrivals can join the talk and pay for the tickets after the talk has finished. The talk lasts about 30 mins.
Suitable for all ages, children (Under 16) must be accompanied by an adult. Clothing: We get sunshine and rain during most months, so make sure you have clothing for the weather on the day. Waterproofs, wellies or walking boots for wet weather or shorts and beach shoes, sandals or crocks for the hot weather. In wet Winter weather full waterproofs with wellies are the best! Participation in a Fossilwalks.com walk is entirely at your own risk. It is however a very safe activity so long as you take notice of all safety warnings given on the day. See Safety Code You are paying for my 16 years experience and guidance in finding fossils, There is a high probability that you will find fossils on my tours, however I can not guarantee you will find a fossil. Beach conditions vary each day and so does the collecting potential of the beach. Beach closures In 16 years of working at Charmouth Beach I have known the beach to be closed on only one occasion, this was in response to the fatal accident at Burton Bradstock some 10 miles down the coast in July 2012. In the event of a beach closure I will endeavor to contact you all to let you know if you have pre booked tickets. However this can only happen if I am told. Beach closures are beyond my control. Walks are conducted with permission of Charmouth Parish Council and follow their Code of Practice
